Terms and Conditions

What you can expect from us, and what we need from you, so every appointment is safe, clear and respectful of your pet.

Last updated 29 July 2026 · Version 1.1

1. Agreement

These terms form the agreement between Dirty Paws LLC ("we", "us") and the person booking a service ("you"). Booking an appointment, by email, phone or in person, means you accept them. If you are booking on behalf of someone else, you confirm you have their authority to do so.

2. Services

We provide two separate services: mobile pet grooming from a self-contained unit that parks at your address, and dog training through the program selected at booking. Current services and prices are listed on our services page. Published prices are a starting point, quoted per pet for a standard coat in normal condition, and may be adjusted after assessment for size, coat length, matting or handling difficulty. We will tell you the revised price before starting work.

Training is behavioural guidance, not a guaranteed outcome. Results depend on the work you do between sessions.

3. Booking and access

We give you an arrival window rather than an exact minute, because traffic and the appointment before yours are not fully predictable. To let us work, you need to provide:

  • A legal parking space within roughly fifty feet of your door, with room for an SUV and trailer.
  • Someone aged eighteen or over at the address for the duration of the appointment.
  • Any gate code, buzzer number or parking permit we need, before the day.

The unit runs on its own power and water. We do not need your outlet or your tap. If we cannot park within a reasonable distance and no alternative is available, the appointment is treated as a late cancellation under clause 5.

4. Your pet

You agree to tell us, before the appointment:

  • Any bite history, or aggression towards people or other animals.
  • Any medical condition, injury, allergy or medication that affects handling.
  • Any history of seizures, heart or breathing problems, or heat sensitivity.
  • Whether your dog is pregnant, in season or recently operated on.
  • Whether vaccinations are current.

We work one pet at a time and we do not use crates. We do not sedate animals and we do not groom sedated animals. If a pet becomes distressed beyond what is fair, we stop, and you pay for the work completed to that point.

5. Cancellations and no-shows

  • More than 24 hours' notice: free to cancel or move.
  • Less than 24 hours' notice: a $50 cancellation fee, charged per pet.
  • Less than one hour before the appointment, or no answer at the address: a $65 trip charge.

We waive these charges for genuine emergencies, including a sudden illness in the household or the pet. If we cancel — mechanical failure, illness, weather that makes the drive unsafe — you pay nothing and we offer the next available slot. These fees are also listed on our services page.

6. Matting and coat condition

Severely matted coats cannot be brushed out humanely. Where matting is tight to the skin, the only safe option is to clip the coat short. We will explain this and get your agreement before we start. Clipping a matted coat can reveal pre-existing sores, nicks or skin irritation that the mats were hiding, and skin under heavy matting is often thin and fragile. We are not liable for conditions that existed before we arrived. Dematting is charged at $25, plus $25 for every extra twenty minutes it takes. Where a coat is so severely matted that it cannot be brushed out and a full shave is the only way to remove it, a $50 pelting fee applies.

7. Health, injury and emergencies

Grooming carries inherent risk with a live animal. Minor nicks, clipper irritation, quicked nails and stress reactions can happen even with careful handling. We carry a first aid kit and we are insured.

If your dog needs urgent veterinary attention during an appointment and you cannot be reached, you authorise us to transport them to the nearest available veterinarian. You are responsible for the cost of treatment unless the injury was caused by our negligence.

8. Payment

Payment is due on completion of the appointment. Balances unpaid after fourteen days may carry a late fee, and further bookings may be held until the account clears.

9. Refusal of service

We may decline or end an appointment where a dog poses a genuine risk to the handler, where an undisclosed condition makes grooming unsafe, where the parking or access described was not accurate, or where a person at the address behaves abusively. Where we end an appointment already in progress, you pay for the work completed.

10. Photography

We may ask to photograph your dog before and after a groom. We ask before taking the photograph and we ask again before using it publicly. You can say no to either, and you can withdraw permission later by emailing us. Saying no changes nothing about the service you receive.

11. Liability

We carry public liability and care, custody and control insurance. Our liability to you is limited to the price of the service in question, except where the law does not permit that limit — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, and for fraud. Nothing in these terms removes any statutory right you have as a consumer.

We are not liable for pre-existing conditions, for outcomes arising from information you did not disclose, or for delays caused by traffic, weather or events outside our reasonable control.

12. Complaints

Tell us within seven days of the appointment at Dirtypawsstg@gmail.com. We will respond within five working days. Where a groom fell short of what we promised, we will put it right at no charge.

13. This website

The content, photography, wording and design of this site belong to Dirty Paws LLC. You may view and share it. You may not copy it for commercial use without written permission. The site is provided as-is; we make no promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

14. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms. The version published on the day you book is the version that applies to that booking. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, and the Arizona courts have jurisdiction.

These terms are written in plain language and are not legal advice. The insurance and liability wording describes intent rather than a lawyer's opinion. Have a qualified attorney confirm them against Arizona requirements before relying on them.
