1. What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to keep, so it can recognise your device on a later visit. Local storage does much the same job with a different mechanism: the entry stays on your device and is never sent automatically with each request.

2. What this site actually stores

One entry, in your browser's local storage. That is the complete list.

• Name: dp-cookie-consent
• Type: local storage, first-party, strictly necessary
• Value: granted or declined, with the date you chose
• Purpose: to remember your answer so the notice does not reappear on every page
• Expires: when you clear your browser data, or twelve months after it was set

It holds no identifier, no name, no email address and nothing that could be used to recognise you on another site.

3. What this site does not do

• No analytics. We do not run Google Analytics or any equivalent.
• No advertising pixels. No Meta Pixel, no Google Ads tag, no TikTok pixel.
• No third-party tracking cookies, and no cross-site profiling.
• No session recording, heatmaps or mouse-movement capture.
• No embedded social widgets or comment systems.
• No accounts, so nothing to log in to and no session cookie.
• No form data sent to us through this site. The enquiry form on the contact page opens the message in your own email application instead.

If that ever changes, this page changes first, and the notice will ask before anything new is set.

4. Third parties that see your request

Our host

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs — IP address, browser type, page requested, timestamp — for security and reliability. These are not cookies and are not used to build a profile of you.

5. The notice at the bottom of the page

We keep it deliberately quiet: a hairline strip at the foot of the page, no dimming overlay, no blocked content, and nothing that interrupts reading. Accept and Decline sit side by side and carry equal weight — we do not hide the decline option or make it harder to click.

Because the only entry we store is strictly necessary to remember your answer, declining does not break anything. It records your preference and stands as a standing instruction against any non-essential storage we might otherwise add later.

6. Changing your mind

Use the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page to bring the notice back and choose again. You can also clear site data in your browser, which removes the entry entirely and returns the site to its first-visit state.

• Chrome and Edge: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies → See all site data.
• Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
• Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data.
